La Maraca is a rattle like instrument made out of the fruit of the Higuera Tree; a common tree in the island of Puerto Rico. In Bomba music, the Maraca serves an important role - Traditionally, it is the instrument the lead singer plays. Viewers will be able to experience a few different patterns in Bomba rhythms as well as playing techniques to help build stamina and an even sound.
